We Give Back

50% of the proceeds from our FIGHT BREAST CANCER soap bar will be donated to: NATIONAL BREAST CANCER COALITION (NBCC).

Our soaps are made in small batches using the cold process method. Unlike commercial, mass-produced soaps, handmade soaps take weeks to cure. This long curing process maintains the integrity of the nutrients, essential oils and vitamins. Handmade soaps do not contain any preservatives, bleaches or fillers. All of the natural glycerin is retained which allows you to cleanse your body without stripping away natural oils.

Handmade soaps may have a higher entry price, but that’s because they provide wholesome benefits when it comes to your health and well-being. No harsh chemicals added.

CARE

Allow your soap to dry between uses. We recommend using one of our wooden soap dishes.

Disclaimer: The design on each new batch may differ slightly. But, we guarantee that every new batch is equally beautiful.

Lauren - Breast Cancer

It took 10 years to grow my dreads Breast Cancer(Chemo) took them away in a matter of months. But it didn’t take away my smile. I will never underemphasize the horror of breast cancer and the debilitating treatment that I had to endure to save my life. But, I’m still here!

“I feel totally blessed. And I strive to be a blessing to others. I hope that people will read my story and be encouraged to hang in there, team up with God, and… fight for your precious life!”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Breast Cancer runs in my family. My birth mom died from breast cancer November, 1970, when she was 57 years old. My sister Bunny died from breast cancer in 1988 – she was 54. As I share this story, I am 63 years old. Because of my family history of breast cancer, I made a conscious decision to have a mammogram every year. On May 20, 2000, my mammogram came back abnormal…At age 45, I had breast cancer too. The good news was, the cancer was detected at a somewhat early stage, and the tumor wasn’t too big yet. That meant I was a good candidate for a lumpectomy rather than a mastectomy.
The battle was on. I had to have several lymph nodes removed and tested to see if the cancer had spread anywhere else. One node was indeed affected. I had to have several rounds of chemotherapy, as well as weeks of daily radiation. BUT…I would get to keep my breast! What more can a girl ask for?
Olive oil, palm oil, rice bran oil, distilled water, coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, castor oil, colloidal oatmeal, goat milk, kaolin clay, salt, sugar, skin safe mica for color, fragrance oil, Tussah Silk, glycerin.
Please read the ingredient list before use. And to be extra safe, breast cancer patients should check with their doctors for approval.
These natural ingredients have been used in organic soap making for hundreds of years. However, as our society became more industrialized handmade soaps were replaced with machine milled bars and harsh chemicals.
Is lye (sodium hydroxide) used to make handmade soaps?
The answer is -- of course.
No lye -- No soap!
All REAL soap is made with lye (sodium hydroxide mixed with liquid). Any skin or hair cleansing product made without sodium hydroxide is not soap, it is detergent.
The chemical reaction of making soap is called saponification. This is when the lye and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. There is no lye present in the finished bars of soap after saponification.
ALLERGY WARNING:
All our soaps are perfectly safe for sensitive skin. However, if you have specific sensitivities and/or allergies please read the ingredient list carefully before purchasing. Products may have come into contact with nut products, wheat, or soy. Most of our soaps also contain Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, and/or Avocado Butter. If you or a gift recipient has allergic reactions to any of our soaps, we recommend discontinuing use of any of our soaps.
