We Give Back

Our purple soap bar is in honor of 2 of our family members who are afflicted with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). We plan to sell a lot of these bars because we want to donate 80% of the proceeds from the sale of this soap, along with our own personal donations to: Lupus LA, The Lupus Foundation of American – Southern California Chapter. And to Cheryl and Donielle.

Our soaps are made in small batches using the cold process method. Unlike commercial, mass-produced soaps, handmade soaps take weeks to cure. This long curing process maintains the integrity of the nutrients, essential oils and vitamins. Handmade soaps do not contain any preservatives, bleaches or fillers. All of the natural glycerin is retained which allows you to cleanse your body without stripping away natural oils.

Handmade soaps may have a higher entry price, but that’s because they provide wholesome benefits when it comes to your health and well-being. No harsh chemicals added.

CARE

Allow your soap to dry between uses. We recommend using one of our wooden soap dishes.

“I was 17 years old when lupus entered my body. I felt it while I was a student at the Pennsylvania School of Ballet summer camp. Body aches were the first sign. Although the demands of ballet training and performance causes body aches and pains, I knew my body and I knew that these pains were distinctly different, something was not right. But I had no idea that I would be diagnosed with something as horrifying as an incurable autoimmune disease. It was earth-shattering to hear that this disease has no cure and that my body was going to endure tremendous suffering for the duration of my life.

When I was about 28 years old, I had a lupus flare that almost took my life. I was in the hospital for 32 days; the doctor told my mom that they did everything they could. They told her that I was going to die. Well, I didn’t die. Not only did I survive, I made it to the Hollywood Red Carpet. Oh, I still have lupus, and I do not underestimate its fury. That vicious flare-up took my body through the ringer; I went blind in one eye temporarily, I had 2 strokes; I had to have a blood transfusion, and lupus also destroyed my kidneys. Lupus has put me in the hospital many times. I can’t count the number of emergency room visits I’ve had. Lupus also took away my ability to bear children. But it did not take away my determination to find joy in other places. I am a happy dog mom and a proud auntie; I have 3 precious nieces that I love with all my heart!

I am a ferocious warrior. I love life and I want to live. So I make a conscious decision to live in perfect health every day. I am happily pursing my dream of acting. Let me be an example that chronic disease does not have to crush every ounce of your life. FIGHT BACK! And find ways to enjoy your life!

Ingredients

Olive oil, palm oil, rice bran oil, distilled water, coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, castor oil, colloidal oatmeal, goat milk, kaolin clay, salt, sugar, skin safe mica for color, fragrance oil, Tussah Silk, glycerin.

Please read the ingredient list before use. And to be extra safe, breast cancer patients should check with their doctors for approval.

These natural ingredients have been used in organic soap making for hundreds of years. However, as our society became more industrialized, handmade soaps were replaced with machine milled bars and harsh chemicals.

Is lye (sodium hydroxide) used to make handmade soaps?

The answer is -- of course.
No lye -- No soap!

All REAL soap is made with lye (sodium hydroxide mixed with liquid). Any skin or hair cleansing product made without sodium hydroxide is not soap, it is detergent.

The chemical reaction of making soap is called saponification. This is when the lye and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. There is no lye present in the finished bars of soap after saponification.

All our soaps are perfectly safe for sensitive skin. However, if you have specific sensitivities and/or allergies please read the ingredient list carefully before purchasing. Products may have come into contact with nut products, wheat, or soy. Most of our soaps also contain Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, and/or Avocado Butter. If you or a gift recipient has allergic reactions to any of our soaps, we recommend discontinuing use of any of our soaps.
