$12.00

This purple soap bar is our small way of helping to raise awareness to the horrific crime of domestic violence.

We are proud to offer this beautiful soap bar because it is great for your skin. And the label is a gentle way to show compassion. It is handmade with lots of natural ingredients like olive oil and coconut oil. It gently cleanses your skin with a rich creamy lather while the fresh grape aroma soothes your soul.

Proceeds from the sale of this soap bar will be donated to THE NATIONAL COALITION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Unfortunately, there are far too many women being beaten and killed every day by the hands of their significant others. I know the horror of this crime because I and many of my friends and family members have been victims of abuse. This soap bar is just the beginning of our passion to join the fight against domestic violence. It is our small way of raising funds to donate to The NATIONAL COALITION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (NCADV). It might be small, but a lot of “smalls” will eventually make a “big”.

Add this to your warm bath and relax. Great for gift giving!

We Give Back

This soap bar is a reminder that women are being hurt and killed every day, and that we as a society need to help. Proceeds from the sale of the soap will be donated to organizations that help abused women.

Our soaps are made in small batches using the cold process method. Unlike commercial, mass-produced soaps, handmade soaps take weeks to cure. This long curing process maintains the integrity of the nutrients, essential oils and vitamins. Handmade soaps do not contain any preservatives, bleaches or fillers. All of the natural glycerin is retained which allows you to cleanse your body without stripping away natural oils.

Handmade soaps may have a higher entry price, but that’s because they provide wholesome benefits when it comes to your health and well-being. No harsh chemicals added.

CARE

Allow your soap to dry between uses. We recommend using one of our wooden soap dishes.

Disclaimer: The design on each new batch may differ slightly. But, we guarantee that every new batch is equally beautiful.

Demetria - Survivor of Domestic Violence

There were 2 of them. Yes, it happens. You leave one abusive relationship only to find yourself in another abusive relationship. I endured and I survived. How? Only through the merciful grace of God; because what I went through, I should have been dead or in a mental hospital.

I decided to do a collection of stories from other abused women. Sadly, it was not hard to find women for my book. “According to several sources, statistics show that nearly 3 in 10 women in the United States have experienced rape, physical violence and/or stalking by a partner and have reported it having a related impact on their functioning.” I can attest to that. Being beaten, raped, degraded, humiliated and stalked put an unrelenting strain on me. I would get up in the morning and it was a strain to open your eyes. It was a strain to get dress and face the world. While everyone seemed to be doing okay, talking, sharing funny experiences and jokes and laughing, I had to strain to pretend that I was laughing too. When, in all actuality, my soul was constantly weeping.

As I write this, I am 71 years old, it’s been nearly 30 years since my last violent attack and I still have flashbacks, dreams and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As much as I hate to admit this, there are triggers that still bring me to tears. Like writing about my abuse… I am always brought to tears. But what’s really a challenge to my peace of mine… I left this out, but I will squeeze it in right here… is the fact that I was not the only victim. My daughter was also abused by my “partner, my abuser”. So this monster, affected the lives of 2 birds with one stone.

What developed out of the stories of abuse is my collection of MAKE MEN DO RIGHT handmade soaps and body sprays. As far back as age 5 or 6 I saw women being abused, and I prayed to God to please, “MAKE EVERY MAN DO RIGHT!”

Olive oil, palm oil, rice bran oil, distilled water, coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, castor oil, colloidal oatmeal, goat milk, kaolin clay, salt, sugar, skin safe mica for color, fragrance oil, Tussah Silk, glycerin.

These natural ingredients have been used in organic soap making for hundreds of years. However, as our society became more industrialized, handmade soaps were replaced with machine milled bars and harsh chemicals.

Is lye (sodium hydroxide) used to make handmade soaps?

The answer is -- of course.
No lye -- No soap!

All REAL soap is made with lye (sodium hydroxide mixed with liquid). Any skin or hair cleansing product made without sodium hydroxide is not soap, it is detergent.

The chemical reaction of making soap is called saponification. This is when the lye and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. There is no lye present in the finished bars of soap after saponification.

ALLERGY WARNING:
All our soaps are perfectly safe for sensitive skin. However, if you have specific sensitivities and/or allergies please read the ingredient list carefully before purchasing. Products may have come into contact with nut products, wheat, or soy. Most of our soaps also contain Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, and/or Avocado Butter. If you or a gift recipient has allergic reactions to any of our soaps, we recommend discontinuing use of any of our soaps.
