Make A Difference

God gave us talent and creativity to share with others. Giving gifts of compassion is our way of serving the LORD.

Every Christmas, DeeLuxe Soaps will give a gift basket
of soap bars to a shelter for abused women.

We will also give a financial blessing to 2 lupus patients that are near and dear to our hearts. Lupus patients are incapacitated in many different ways; physically, mentally, emotional and with mounting medical bills, and the need for special foods, they are also struggling financially. We are dedicated and very passionate about supporting these women.

“For by grace you have been saved by faith…”
– Ephesians 2:8

*** Meet our Magnificent Women ***

Their lives were temporarily interrupted by Lupus, Cancer, Heart Transplant, Kidney Failure, Domestic Abuse, Drug Addiction and Rape  “…and still they rise”.

“We carry illness, we carry hardships, and we carry pain; Yet we hold faith, happiness, love and joy.
We are lights of inspiration – w e   a r e   m a k i n g   a   d I f f e r e n c e .”

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of our handmade soaps will be donated to the Lupus foundations – the Cancer Foundation - and to organizations that support abused women.

Demetria –  Domestic Abuse:

“Although I have been free from physical abuse for many years, I still feel that I am a part of the community of battered women. I have not forgotten the pain and humiliation of being beaten, degraded and humiliated by someone I loved. The painful memories of running from house to house and to shelters for battered women, with my young daughter in tow, trying desperately to escape my abuser, propels me to reach out to others victims.”

 "free yourself, like a gazelle, from the hand of the hunter…”

– Proverbs 6:5

The statistics for violence against women in the United States are shocking. More needs to be done to put an end to this horrific crime against women. Pillows from Heaven and DeeLuxe Soaps are joining the fight against Domestic abuse. We are currently donating products and clothes to the HOPE House in Atlanta Georgia.

My 2 babies, Khalua and Bailey, that were there during my dialysis days. They kept me smiling through it all. They both lived for 17 and 15 years. They are now smiling down on me from Doggie heaven.

I am enjoying life “dialysis free” with my new fur babies, Duncan and Delilah.

“In 2003, I had the worst lupus flare up ever. Doctor’s said I would not survive such a vicious, deadly lupus attack. Well, by the grace of God, I did. Not only did I survive, I made it to the Red Carpet. Oh, I still have lupus, and I do not underestimate its potential fury. But I make a conscious decision to live in perfect health every day. And, I surround myself with things that make me smile; Like my two baby “dogs”, my girl Delilah and my little boy dog, Duncan. I am happily pursing my dream of acting and I also love fashion. I love to design clothes, my mom is a seamstress and she brings my visions to life. But when it’s all said and done, my greatest pleasure comes from knowing that God has given me special favor, and has filled me with passion to be an encourager to others.

”my cup overflows…”
– Proverbs 23:5

“I feel totally blessed. And I strive to be a blessing to others. I hope that people will read my story and be encouraged to hang in there, team up with God, and… fight for your precious life!”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cancer runs in my family. My birth mom died from cancer November, 1970, when she was 57 years old. My sister Bunny died from cancer in 1988 – she was 54.  As I write this story, I am 58 years old.
Because of my family history of cancer, I made a conscious decision to have a mammogram every year. On May 20, 2000, my mammogram came back abnormal…At age 45, I had breast cancer too. The good news was, the cancer was detected at a somewhat early stage, and the tumor wasn’t too big yet. That meant I was a good candidate for a lumpectomy rather than a mastectomy.
The battle was on. I had to have several lymph nodes removed and tested to see if the cancer had spread anywhere else. One node was indeed affected. I had to have several rounds of chemotherapy, as well as weeks of daily radiation. BUT…I would get to keep my breast!  What more can a girl ask for?!
Ms. Aretha Stockdon turning 100 – Honoring this special lady with a centenarian pillowcase.
“I have always had a healthy diet and I still exercise. A few stretches a day.” says Ms. Aretha, born January 19, 1911. She is very independent, lives alone, and has her own car. She drives herself everywhere, which includes, Second Baptist Church, in Los Angeles where she has been a member since 1947. She still sings in the church choir twice every Sunday. She has never suffered any of the chronic diseases – her only health concern is high blood pressure. She is very fashion conscious and still wears short shirts and high heels.  Ms. Aretha has one daughter and one granddaughter.
Standing with another choir member at Second Baptist Church, Ms. Aretha is holding her birthday pillowcase.
In 2010, according to the National Institute on Aging, there were about 80,000 centenarians in the United States. And like Ms. Aretha, many are functionally independent and generally full of life. Centenarians are instrumental in helping researchers uncover factors that can help the human race live healthy, vigorous and disability-free at older ages.
DeeLuxe Soaps has designed a line of centenarian pillow cases for citizens 100 years old and older that we give to them as gifts. Giving gifts of compassion is one of the ways that we serve the LORD.
If you know a special senior 99 years old or older and would like for them to receive a free centenarian pillow case, please call us at: 310-270-2777 11am–4pm EST.
